New to community solar projects?
Here’s how community solar saves you money.
1. SOLAR PANELS ARE INSTALLED IN YOUR COMMUNITY
Community Power installed solar energy systems on the roofs of New York City Housing Authority buildings in Harlem and Brooklyn.
2. YOU JOIN THE COMMUNITY SOLAR PROJECT
There are currently no available spots in the project.
3. THE SOLAR PANELS PRODUCE ENERGY
Each month, the solar panels will produce energy. Participants in the project are each allocated some of that energy. The energy then gets converted to dollars and appears on the Con Edison bill as a credit or “adjustment”.
4. PAY A DISCOUNTED CON EDISON BILL
Every month, participants receive a Con Edison bill showing their adjustment.
5. YOU SAVE MONEY ON YOUR ELECTRIC BILL
Participants save, on average, $10 per month on energy expenses.
* Savings depend on how much energy the panels generate but are always 20% of the bill credit.
